Vivian L. Meier

Vivian was born on December 16, 1926, in Wisconsin and was the loving daughter of Therese H. Meier and Christy F. Meier and the sister of Thomas C. (Darlene) Meier. 

Vivian attended school in Milwaukee and following graduation she worked as a phone operator for the Milwaukee Gas Light Company for more than 30 years. Vivian led a very full life and enjoyed spending time with her many friends, traveling, reading, walking, swimming, thrifting, volunteering, cheering on the Packers, and visiting with her family who she loved very much. Vivian was a kind soul and cared for all animals including her pet bird, Mickey. In her final years, Vivian was cared for by the staff of the Holton Manor Nursing Home where she made friends with the wonderful nursing staff and the many therapy animals, the latter of which she always had a treat for. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, and nephew: Thomas C. Meier. Vivian is survived by 2 nieces: Judene M. (Steven) Schmidt of Elkhorn and Mary T. Meier of Milwaukee; 1 niece-in-law: Vickey E. Meier of California, 3 grand-nieces: Stephanie M. (Brandon) Schmidt of Wisconsin, Eva L. (Anthony) Ferrari of North Carolina, and Darlene K. (Christopher) Hondros of California; 1 grand-nephew: Edward F. Horgan of Milwaukee; and 1 great-grand niece. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home (5355 W Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee, WI) from 10am-12pm, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery (3801 W. Morgan Ave.) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
