Alexandra Fryjoff

Alexandra "Alexa" "Sandy" Fryjoff

(Nee Balcerak)

Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 at the age of 82.

Beloved wife of the late David Fryjoff for 43 years. Loving mother of Pamela (Joseph) Wilke. Dear grandmother of Abigail. Sister of the late John Balcerak. Aunt of Christine (Bob) Loose, John (Laura) Balcerak, Nancy (Dan) Kasun and Diane (Paul) Bast. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Alexa was born in Milwaukee in 1943. Being part of a military family she spent her early years living in Rhode Island, Florida, and Illinois. She returned to Milwaukee to attend St. Mary's Academy. She met David and married the love of her life in 1964.

Alexa spent many years working for AT&T. She worked hard to advance herself and loved her job and coworkers. Alexa truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends but her Granddaughter Abby was the apple of her eye. Amma (ah-ma) had many adventures with Abby from visits to parks, the zoo, special lunches, and even to Disney.

Alexa was always on the move. She could be found on the golf course with her friends. Frequently in the kitchen where, per her son-in-law, she made 'killer' meatloaf, beef stew, and breaded pork chops. She also loved gardening, tending to her flowers and tomatoes, and picking the 'damn weeds.'

Alexa also spent much of her time volunteering. Between the years of 1979-1987 she put her heart and soul into being the Girl Scout leader of her daughter's troop at St. John's. She was a member of the Christian Women at St. John the Evangelist Parish, the Women's Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 416 in Greendale, and the AT&T Pioneers.

In 2021, when Alexa faced a cancer diagnosis, she faced it head on and fought every step of the way. A tougher lady I have never met. She earned a well deserved rest.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 from 10 - 11:15 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 W. Coldspring Rd., Greenfield, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery, 3801 S. 6th St., Milwaukee.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the 12th floor and CICU 8th floor at St. Luke's Medical Center, and Dr. Laura McGartland and her staff for their loving care of Alexa.
