Gary R. Kozik

Gary R. Kozik

Gary Kozik, born on February 15, 1954, in Milwaukee WI, found peace on October 3, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vila and Frank Kozik, and his infant sister, Dawn Kozik.

Gary leaves behind two sons, Nick (Kelsey) and Jake Kozik, who were the pride and joy of his life, as well as their mother and his former wife, Jill Sutter-Kozik. A devoted father, Gary cherished every moment spent with his sons, from catching Brewers and Bucks games to grabbing pizza at Lisa's on Oakland.

Gary was an artist at heart. His love for capturing life’s moments translated into a lifelong passion for movies and photography. Beyond the lens, he found joy and inspiration in music, especially Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and other timeless rock artists.

Known for his outgoing personality and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Gary’s warmth and zest for life left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the stories shared by his family and friends.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday, October 21st at Bruskiewitz Funeral Home, 5355 W. Forest Home Ave. The visitation will run from 9:30-11:30AM, followed by a memorial service. The memorial service will be followed by a luncheon at a nearby location for any friends or family that wish to celebrate Gary's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gary Sinise Foundation (https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/donate) in honor of a shared love of films, first responders, and a great first name.

Gary will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
