Beatrice "Bea" Cortez

Passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14th, 2024 at the age of 98 years.

Loving mother of Maria (Frank) Zimmermann, the late Fernando "Nando" Cortez and Alfredo "Freddy" (Kathy) Cortez. Dear grandmother of Ashley, Miles, Cassandra and Jarrett, and great-grandmother of Isadora, Louella, Emelina, Wade, Gianna, Reyna and another great-grandchild to be born soon. Sister of Anita, Frank, Ernest and Robert. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Bartolo and Camilla Cortez.

Visitation at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment at Arlington Park Cemetery.

Bea was president of the PTA at Lincoln Avenue School. She retired from EZ Painter after 34 years working as a machine operator. She enjoyed reading, crafts, bingo and spelling bees. She was active as a volunteer at her church, St. Hyacinth. Her fondest childhood memories were sitting at the dinner table with her family.  Bea loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren and said her proudest family moments were "so many".
