Richard L. Wendt

Richard Lee Wendt, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2022 at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer. 

He was the son of Harold and Edith Wendt, from Fox Lake, Wisconsin, the loving husband of Janice (Schultz) Wendt, and the youngest of six children. His siblings include: Ronald Wendt, Lois Wendt, and he was preceded in death by Donna Sedlet, Carol Bloomfield, and Dennis Wendt. He was the loving father of Richard (Ava) Wendt Jr. of Milwaukee, WI, and Shannon (Donald) Gage of New Haven, IN. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Kaile Wendt, Ella Marie Gage, Rylee Wendt, Donald Gage Jr., and Adeline Gage. Rich proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 from 9:30-11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 7821 W Lincoln Ave, West Allis. Funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave, New Berlin, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are greatly appreciated.
