Mary Julia Royten

Loving wife of Robin for 46 years. Loving mother of Ryan (Shauna) and Matthew (Kelly). Beloved "Grandmare" of Ryan Jr., Ramsey, Ryshaun, Sophia Mary Julia, Savannah and Taylor. Dear sister of William "Billy" (Patty) Mertens, and sister-in-law of Jeffrey (Sandy) Royten and Victoria (Kevin) Haut. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and many friends.

Mary, the daughter of William "Bill" and Virginia "Ginny" Mertens, attended Milwaukee Hamilton High School and graduated from UW Oshkosh. After 4 years of teaching art at Forest Park Middle School in Franklin, WI, Mary took on the occupations of homemaker and antique collector. She was a very creative person who had a talent for transforming old things and giving them "new life". Mary's ever present cheery outlook on daily life disguised her ongoing struggle with multiple sclerosis.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Khatri and his neurological staff, the weekly care provided by Joyce Latta, and the staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for their dedication, care and compassion. 

Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, February 3 at 10 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's name can be made to the MS Society of Wisconsin.
