Mary Jo Jacobi

Mary Jo Jacobi (nee Plotka) passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the age of 73 years. Mary Jo spent her life devoted to her late husband Larry of 49 years (+ 7 more), her P.A.L., sons-in-law and grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Mary Jo was born on November 10, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward and Marian (nee Adamski) Plotka. She graduated from Pius XI High School in 1968 and then later from Alverno College with a degree in Education and Spanish. She paid for her schooling working at St. Michael's Hospital. After college, she spent endless hours raising her 3 girls, caring for extended family members, volunteering with multiple Girl Scout Troops and helping out as a grade school tutor and lunch lady. When her girls grew up to be on their own, she began scrapbooking and writing poems. Until she was no longer able, she spent her time volunteering at St. Mary's Parish in Hales Corners.

She is survived by her daughters Paula (Andrew Yee) Jacobi of Houston, TX, Angela (Adam) Anderson of West Allis and Laura (Brandon) Wirgau of Milwaukee, grandson Parker and step-granddaughter Sophia. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 9:30 - 10:45 AM at St. Mary Parish, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment Holy Apostles Parish Cemetery, New Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials are suggested to St. Mary St. Vincent De Paul.
