Marie Soucek

Marie Soucek, beloved wife of Arthur Soucek, mother of Sandra Moog, and grandmother of Amberleigh Moog entered into God’s kingdom on November 8, 2025 at the age of 76. Marie was preceded in death by her eldest sister Pat and is further survived by her twin brother Rick, sisters Barb and Lori, and brother Dave as well as nieces and nephews.

Marie was born on July 17, 1949 in Grafton, Wisconsin to William and Elsie Lamp. After graduating from Grafton High School, Marie began her life-long career at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a Travel Expense Auditor. She later met Arthur Soucek through a mutual friend at the Boston Store in Southridge Mall. Art and Marie were married on November 13, 1971 in Grafton.  They later became parents to their only child Sandra on July 14, 1978.   

After many years of hard work, Marie retired from UWM in 2002. In August 2002, Art and Marie moved to Gilbert, Arizona to enjoy their retirement.  They spent twenty wonderful years in the Arizona sun enjoying countless activities with the Oldsmobile Club of Arizona and not shoveling snow. On July 18, 2008 Marie became a grandmother to her only grandchild Amberleigh. Art and Marie spent many summers in Wisconsin as Marie provided “Gamma Daycare” for Amber.

Art and Marie moved back to Wisconsin full-time in 2022 and bought a home in New Berlin to live with their daughter, granddaughter and favorite kitty. Marie enjoyed the last three years being close to her family and friends. It is now evident that their decision to move back to Wisconsin was more timely than anyone would have thought. Marie was loved beyond words and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home on Friday, November 14th, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Entombment at Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield, WI.
