Laurence "Larry" Hinz

Laurence Alan Hinz crossed over into Eternal Life on May 5th, 2020 due to complications from numerous health conditions.

Born March 8th, 1947 in Milwaukee WI, Larry joined the Army at age 18 after graduating from South Division High School in 1966. Upon his return, he was employed by Allen Bradley (later Rockwell Automation) where he worked for 38 years making many friends throughout his time there due to his hilarious antics and wicked sense of humor.

Larry married the love of his life Sandra Hinz (neé Wegner) on October 17th, 1970, entwining two families into lifelong friendships filled with years of poker games, bowling tournaments, bingo games, and summers at Post Lake. Larry and Sandy were blessed with their first child Shawna in 1973 and then again with Ginger in 1978. As a father and husband, he could always be counted on for a good practical joke, with many of his exploits becoming famous within the family.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Sandy, daughters Shawna (Darrell) Johnson, Ginger (Scott) Zandt, siblings Charles (Darlene) Hinz, Jerold (Edith) Hinz, and Merry (Paul Proell) Hinz. He is also survived by honorary daughters Kim (Tom) Ziarek, Marianne (Sean) Santarius, sisters-in-law Nadeen (Felix) Puczylowski, and Geraldine Heritz, along with grandchildren Courtney (William) Gamble, James Johnson, and Dylan Zandt, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Marilouise Hinz, mother and father-in-law Gerald and Leona Wegner, brother-in-law Tony Heritz, and sister Lois Hinz.

Burial will be a private interment at Painesville Cemetery in Franklin.
