Dorothy Metos

Dorothy "Dot" Metos

Dorothy A. Metos "Dot" 74 of Milwaukee passed away on November 11, 2020 surrounded by her daughters, sons-in-law and all four grandchildren, at Sharon S. Richardson Community hospice, due to complications resulting from a ruptured brain aneurysm. Dot was born on January 7, 1946 to Thomas and Jennifer (Pelkola) Metos in Trout Creek, Michigan.

Dot loved watching basketball, football and anything that related to crime investigations. Her favorite teams were the Pistons, Bucks and yes, the Detroit Lions; her favorite crime shows were NCIS and Blue Bloods. Dot also enjoyed chatting with friends and family on the phone and via Facebook, and looked forward to her weekly phone call with her sister, Sylvia. Dot loved playing the slots and bingo at Potawatomi casino with her brother, Tommy and playing pool with her two sons-in-law. What brought Dot the most joy, was spending time with her family, especially her two daughters and grandchildren, who she was very proud of.

After Dot raised her children and assisted in running the family bar, Dot dedicated her life to caring for others working at St. Luke's Hospital in the Neuro ICU until retirement in 2012 when she decided to help take care of her younger grandson, Joey and three years later, her grandson, Noah, keeping them out of daycare.

Dot is preceded in death by her partner and love of her life LeRoy; brothers Jimmy, George, John and Robert Metos and sisters Jennifer Koski and Mary DeZur.

Dot leaves behind two daughters, Lisa (Patrick) Semple of Grafton, WI and Roxanne (Peter) Jilk of Milwaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Jacob Semple, Kayla Semple (Marc Paulsen), Joseph Jilk, Noah Jilk and her surrogate granddaughter, Katherine Bordetskaya; two brothers, Alex (Brenda) Metos of Bruce Crossing, MI and Thomas (Cecilia) Metos of Milwaukee, WI; three sisters, Katherine Moilanen of Trout Creek, MI, Sylvia (Sam) Sain of Marquette, MI and Effie Thomas of Ewen, MI; many nieces and nephews; special friends Donna and Gary Hatch, Les and Dorothy Semple, Laura and Jim Hahn and Gerrie and Phil Wetzel.

Per Dot's wishes and due to COVID, a private Memorial Service will take place for immediate family only.

A Celebration of Dot's Life will be planned by her family for the summer of 2021.

Bruskiewitz Funeral Home is assisting the family with final arrangements.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at St. Luke's Hospital, Neuro ICU and especially the caregivers at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Inpatient Unit, for the excellent care and support provided to Dot and her family.
