Rudy Neumeister
Rudy Neumeister

Rudy Neumeister passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Rudy was born on March 19, 1928, in Mies, Bohemia. He and his wife (who was 9 months pregnant at the time), immigrated to Milwaukee in 1950. His first job was as a dishwasher, then he worked for a short time as a machinist. He also worked as an architect and built houses. His love of working with his hands led him to become a self-employed skilled carpenter, who was much sought after for his quality of craftmanship.
He loved to make people laugh! He would always say that people need some laughter in their life, and laugh they did with his many “props”, like his "cat" and "quarter pounder", leaving an impact on everyone he met!
You could always find Rudy with at least one camera in his hand! One of his favorite hobbies was taking pictures at every event and occasion, then developing the film in his basement darkroom, making sure that everyone he knew in the photos got at least one copy!
Music was his passion. Although he couldn’t read a note, he played the mandolin, harmonica and “squeeze box” with proficiency! There was always joyful music in our home!
He was a proud lifelong member of the Milwaukee Liedertafel/Liederkranz and an honored Freemason of the Aurora Masonic Lodge.
Rudy is the beloved husband of the late Margit. Loving father of Margaret (John) Dahms and Anita (Ray) Thomas. Loving Opa of Nick (Janet) Haberer, Jeremy (Shannon) Haberer, Rebecca (Steve) Veium, Erika (Steve) Lenart and Christina (Rob) Christopher, and Uropa of Jacob, Kaitlyn, Josh, Elliott, Addison, Ben, Ryan, Zach (Hannah), Ali, Michael, James, Luke and Ava. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 10 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
